Unconference 2025: (Men) Leading Differently

We shared the idea of Men Leading Differently last year, and in response to the high level of interest we are making this our theme.

To make sustainable difference in creating more diverse, inclusive, and healthier organisations, those who are in the majority, and especially in positions of power and influence, are key. Research shows that real improvements come through systemic change, applied consistently over time. And yet in the diversity and wellbeing topic areas, most interventions are not aimed at those who are in positions of power to make these changes.

For that reason, we want to go beyond men being allies, to men being change agents in creating better places to work.

We also recognise that men are often not given the information or development to know what and how to make these kinds of changes. Most men are committed to fostering more inclusive and healthier organisational cultures, but the challenge lies in knowing how to do so. So here we want to focus on how people can lead differently, with an emphasis on what men can do in this space.

At the Unconference we will be sharing theory and research around actions that have impact and provide a ‘hot off the press’ update on our first Men Leading Differently pilot coaching group. This programme is running internally within an organisation who is brave enough to experiment with something new. The programme is running for a year from December – December, and we are hoping some of the participants will come along and share their insights from the first few months.

As previously, we will also have psychologists, academics, and business leaders in the room, and look forward to having rich discussions. We aim to create a participant-driven meeting that contains space for peer-peer learning, collaboration, and creativity. You can book here
